You may have heard of the House of Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchraft and Wizardry. When Helga founded her house at Hogwarts, she made me, HuffleBadger, her house representative. She couldn't have chosen a better mascot, if you ask me!
Now, you may have heard a lot of bad things about Hufflepuffs; that we're leftovers, insignificant and not really capable of being extraordinary or talented. As some students in the other houses would have you believe, Hufflepuffs simply exist, and that Hufflepuff didn't really "specialize" in anything.
As a consequence, Hufflepuff gets a lot of hate for being a stupid and meaningless house, or in rare cases, called an illegitimate house (I don't even know what that means). And this makes me a sad badger.
Fortunately, most of what you hear people say about Hufflepuff is all rubbish. Here in Hufflepuff, students are distinguished for their outstanding loyalty, tenacity, strong worth ethic, patience, fairness, and limitless kindness.
The other houses see these traits and assume that we are no threat to them, to the point that they declare that we lack the values they hold in reverence (e.g. intelligence, bravery, ambitious). These low standards don't intimidate or daunt Hufflepuffs. In fact, it gives them the freedom to be themselves and find where their own strengths and where their passions are. This helps Hufflepuffs be the best equipped to thrive and contribute to society.
So why a blog? Because every day is a good day to be a Hufflepuff.
